Great to meet you!

I am a queer person of color. In our sessions together, you will find that I bring a mixture of warmth, wit, sarcasm, and dark humor. I love nature and plants! Do not be surprised when plant and nature metaphors are utilized in our sessions.

I received my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Texas at Tyler in December 2019. I have experience working in inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings. During my time in these environments, I worked with children, adolescents, and adults. My foundation of the therapy process is trauma-focused and social justice-informed. My ideal client is a BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ individual struggling with thoughts of "not being enough."

My approach to therapy

I utilize metaphor, humor, and continual gentle challenging throughout sessions, which will allow you to develop insight and begin the process of changing thoughts and behavior patterns.I created my private practice to decolonize the therapy experience, making it one in which you’re the expert.

My goal is to empower BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals throughout different stages of life; exploring ways to return back to your innermost strengths to become your happiest, most authentic version of self. I am here to help facilitate your healing through my own cultural understanding around topics like machismo, emotional suppression, shame, colorism, and fetishization.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect lots of open-ended questions for me to get the "big picture" of your life. Together, we will move at a pace that feels most comfortable to you. The goal is for you to feel seen, heard, and understood.

After our initial appointment, you will take the lead on pressing topics. I will begin asking deeper questions to identify the root causes of your distress. My goal is to assist you in identifying past trauma(s) while providing education about bodily responses and brain function.
