Great to meet you!

Hello ! My name is Brittany Kowalski. I am an LCSW. I attended Bloomsburg University for completion of my undergraduate degree where I majored in Social Work with a minor in American Sign Language. I completed my master’s degrees at Temple University in Clinical Social Work. Since graduating I have worked with clients of all ages including families and couples to help them meet their goals as a team.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized, recognizing that each person brings their own experiences, strengths, and goals into the therapeutic process. I work from a trauma-informed perspective and integrate evidence-based approaches to help clients better understand patterns that may be keeping them stuck while developing practical skills to navigate current challenges. A significant focus of my practice is trauma treatment, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Through EMDR, I help clients identify and process distressing experiences, memories, and beliefs that continue to influence how they feel, think, and respond in the present. I believe therapy should go beyond simply managing symptoms; when appropriate, our work focuses on understanding and addressing the experiences underlying those symptoms so clients can create meaningful and lasting change. Throughout treatment, I prioritize creating a supportive, authentic environment where clients feel heard, appropriately challenged, and actively involved in determining the direction and pace of their care.

What you can expect from me
