Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) with a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and life transitions. I enjoy working with people from different backgrounds and stages of life, helping them better understand themselves, navigate challenges, and make meaningful changes.

I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). With CBT, we might explore how your thoughts influence your feelings and behaviors, and work on changing patterns that aren't helping you. DBT gives us practical tools for managing overwhelming emotions, navigating relationships, and handling stressful situations. ACT helps us make room for difficult thoughts and feelings while focusing on what matters most to you.

My approach to therapy

I believe a strong connection with your therapist is one of the most important parts of meaningful progress. My style is warm, conversational, and collaborative. I'm actively engaged in sessions, offering honest feedback, asking thoughtful questions, and helping you explore new perspectives.

I draw from evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, and ACT, but I don't believe therapy should follow the same formula for everyone. Some sessions may focus on practical strategies for everyday challenges, while others involve exploring deeper patterns, experiences, and relationships.

My goal is to make therapy feel comfortable, productive, and genuinely useful to you, with an approach that fits your personality, needs, and goals.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know each other. I'll want to hear what brings you to therapy, learn a little about your background, and understand what you're hoping to get out of our time together. We'll talk about what's been going on, what's important to you, and where you'd like to see things change.

There's no pressure to share everything at once or know exactly what you want to work on. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable, answer any questions you have, and start figuring out what moving forward might look like. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, and a little more comfortable with the process.
