Great to meet you!

I'm Dr. Calvin Collins, an Army veteran, Board-Certified Mental Health Professional, and EdD-level therapist with over 13 years of clinical experience. I specialize in working with veterans, first responders (police, fire, EMS), nurses, and adults, Youth, and teens at risk. navigating trauma, grief, infidelity, anger, substance use, and end-of-life concerns. I've seen firsthand how the people who spend their lives protecting others often have the hardest time asking for help themselves. I'm here to make that easier. My sessions are virtual so that you can access real, evidence-based support from anywhere in Florida, Delaware, or New York, without the waiting room.

My approach to therapy

My approach is direct, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based methods. I primarily use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Solution-Focused techniques — the same approaches used by the VA and DoD for treating PTSD, moral injury, and complex trauma. For couples and families, I use Cognitive Behavioral Conjoint Therapy and Functional Family Therapy. I'll be honest with you about what I see and what I think will help. Sessions aren't passive; we'll set real goals and track real progress. But I'll also meet you where you are, and I understand that some wounds need more than a worksheet.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about you doing the talking. Tell me what brought you in, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping your life looks like six months from now. I'll listen, ask questions, and start to understand your full picture — not just your symptoms. Before we wrap up, we'll

have a clear sense of whether we're a good fit and what a treatment plan might look like. No pressure to share everything at once. No judgment about where you've been. Just an honest conversation with someone who's been in uniform and spent over a decade learning how to help people get through the hardest seasons of their lives.
