Great to meet you!

What I Want My Clients to Know About Me

I believe that every person has value, purpose, and the capacity for growth, regardless of the challenges they may be facing. My goal is to provide a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their concerns, develop practical solutions, and move toward meaningful change.

I understand that seeking counseling can be difficult. Whether you are facing anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, grief, life transitions, stress, or uncertainty about the future, I strive to meet you where you are and work collaboratively with you to identify your goals and strengths.

My approach is both compassionate and practical. I want clients to leave sessions with greater understanding, hope, and actionable strategies they can apply in their daily lives. I believe lasting change occurs when we address not only thoughts and emotions, but also the biological, relational, environmental, and personal factors that influence well-being.

I have experience working with individuals, couples, families, military families, caregivers, professionals, and people navigating significant life challenges. I enjoy helping clients improve communication, strengthen relationships, establish healthy boundaries, recover from setbacks, and develop resilience.

For clients who desire it, I am able to integrate Christian faith and spiritual principles into the counseling process. I respect each client's beliefs and values and tailor treatment to their individual goals and preferences.

Above all, I want my clients to know that counseling is a partnership. You are the expert on your life. My role is to provide guidance, support, perspective, and tools that help you move toward the life and relationships you want to create.

My approach to therapy

My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and holistic. I believe meaningful change occurs when we understand the interaction between biological, psychological, relational, environmental, cultural, and spiritual influences on a person's life. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I work with clients to identify underlying patterns, strengths, and opportunities for growth that support long-term well-being. I am Christ Centered.

I strive to create a supportive and respectful environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to actively participate in the counseling process. Together, we establish clear goals and develop practical strategies that can be applied in everyday life.

My work integrates evidence-based counseling approaches, including cognitive-behavioral strategies, solution-focused techniques, family systems perspectives, relationship-focused interventions, psychoeducation, and strengths-based practices. Treatment is individualized to meet the unique needs, experiences, values, and goals of each client.

I have a particular interest in helping individuals and couples improve communication, strengthen relationships, establish healthy boundaries, navigate life transitions, manage stress, address anxiety and depression, process grief and loss, recover from relational injuries, and build resilience during difficult seasons of life.

For clients who desire it, I can thoughtfully integrate Christian faith and spiritual principles into the therapeutic process. My goal is to help clients gain insight, develop effective coping skills, strengthen relationships, and move toward a healthier, more purposeful life.

What you can expect from me

What Can Clients Expect From Our First Session Together?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation for effective counseling. My goal is to create a comfortable, respectful, and supportive environment where you can openly discuss the concerns that brought you to counseling.

During our first meeting, we will review important information about confidentiality, informed consent, practice policies, and the counseling process. I will ask questions to better understand your current concerns, personal history, relationships, strengths, goals, and any factors that may be affecting your well-being.

You do not need to have everything figured out before our first session. We will work together to identify priorities and establish goals that are meaningful to you. I may ask about emotional, physical, relational, environmental, cultural, and spiritual factors that influence your life so I can gain a more complete understanding of your situation.

By the end of the session, clients often leave with greater clarity regarding their concerns, an initial plan for moving forward, and a better understanding of how counseling can support their goals. Together, we will determine whether my services are a good fit for your needs and discuss recommendations for ongoing care.
