Great to meet you!

I am an LPC, with 4 years experience as a therapist and a little more than 20 yrs of mental health field/profession experience. In addition to my M.S., LPC, I hold an A.S. in Behavioral Science, a B.S. in Psychology, a second M.S. in Psychology. I've ample experience working with individuals ranging in age from early childhood into the elder population. I've also worked with couples, helping them navigate through and better manage typical relationship strains and stressors; vast experience in helping clients process trauma and abuse, develop and strengthen motivation, self-esteem, confidence, self-efficacy, personal empowerment and growth mindset; helping clients improve their capacity to cope, adapt/adjust to life changes. The most important element in my approach is lived experience I bring to this table; having experienced multiple adversities; similar to those endured by many clients. Likewise, I've done much and continue doing the necessary healing work. Therefore, it is incredibly important that I create an open, judgment free and thoroughly objective space; making sure YOU have YOUR safe space to experience your processing as YOU NEED. Taking the first step to healing into a better life quality takes deep courage. I applaud your bravery and I look forward to supporting you in that process.

My approach to therapy

I work from a holistic approach when working with clients in processing trauma; placing emphasis on the "shedding" of emotional pain physically as well as mentally and emotionally; helping clients better understand the mind-body connection and how perspective and self-regulation influence the physical and physiological health and human development.

What you can expect from me

You will find I am quite laid back. Your first session will entail mostly you telling me about yourself, things you'd like to address in therapy, your expectations of the experience; from yourself as well as from me; and any questions you may have for me.
