Great to meet you!

My name is Carissa Johnson. I am a licensed clinical social worker and substance abuse counselor licensed in Wisconsin. I am also licensed as a clinical social worker in the states of Ohio, Maine, and Massachusetts. My clinical experience includes individual, couples, and group therapy in different areas, including substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and relationship problems.

My approach to therapy

I use an eclectic approach, utilizing solution focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing. When working with couples, I prefer to use a mix of methods from emotionally focused therapy and the Gottman Method.

What you can expect from me

My therapy environment can be best described as collaborative. Together, we discuss your therapy goals and I will share my clinical judgement with you as to what methods will help you reach those goals. Together, we will create a treatment plan that is focused on how you can best reach your therapy goals.
