Great to meet you!

Many of the people who reach out to me are carrying more than one struggle at a time. You may be dealing with anxiety while also relying on alcohol to cope, feeling depressed while facing legal or family stress, or trying to hold everything together at work while your relationships and daily life feel heavier than usual. If you are exhausted from handling it all on your own, therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what is happening, and start building a way forward. I’m a doctoral-level counselor with experience supporting teens, adults, and especially men who may not always feel comfortable opening up. I offer evening telehealth appointments across Michigan so getting support can fit into real life, including work, parenting, school, or other responsibilities.

My approach to therapy

I take a structured, practical, and goal-oriented approach because therapy should feel useful and focused, not like you are going in circles. We will begin by looking at what is happening right now, what patterns may be keeping you stuck, and what changes you want to make in your life. From there, we will create a plan that feels realistic and personalized to you. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and choices, while also building tools they can use between sessions. I can be direct when it helps move things forward, but I also work with patience, respect, and zero judgment. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest about where you are and feel supported as you work toward meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will focus on getting a clear understanding of what has been weighing on you, what is most important to address, and what you hope will feel different over time. There is no pressure to share everything at once, and you do not need to have the right words before you begin. I will ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully, and help us identify practical next steps so you leave with more clarity than you came in with. Many clients find relief in simply having a plan and feeling like they no longer have to figure it all out alone. If you are ready to get started, you can book a session through this page and we can begin working toward steady, realistic progress together.
