Great to meet you!

I want you to know that you won’t be judged here. I’m Carliqua Spencer, CRNP-PMH, a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and I work with adults facing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, and substance use. I know how hard it can be to reach out, and I never take that trust lightly.

My approach is collaborative. I listen first, and then we build a plan together that fits your life and your goals, not a one-size-fits-all treatment. You’ll be an active partner in your care, and I’ll explain your options clearly so you feel informed and in control.

If you’ve been feeling stuck or unlike yourself, you don’t have to keep carrying it alone. I’d be honored to help you take that first step.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and personalized. I start with a thorough psychiatric evaluation so I understand the full picture: your history, your symptoms, and what you want your life to look like. From there, we build a treatment plan together, including medication management when it’s right for you, and I’ll always explain your options so you can make informed decisions.

I treat depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma-related concerns, and I coordinate with your therapist or community providers so your care feels connected, not fragmented. I also have a special understanding of the pressures faced by government and public service professionals, and I’m glad to support those carrying high-stress, high-responsibility work.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about getting to know you. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out. I’ll ask what brought you in, what you’ve been experiencing, and what’s helped or hasn’t in the past, and you can share at your own pace in a supportive, judgment-free space.

I’ll complete a comprehensive assessment and learn about your goals, so we’re focused on what matters most to you. By the end of the visit, we’ll begin shaping a personalized plan together, which may include coping strategies, therapy referrals, and medication management if it’s the right fit. You’ll leave knowing what comes next.
