Carmen Pischedda

Hi my name is Carmen and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oklahoma since 2016 and I have a total of 13 years of experience in the mental health field. I currently work with older teens and adult clients. For the first half of my career, I gained a wealth of experience working with kids and families, which has contributed greatly to the psychodynamic approach I frequently utilize in individual sessions.

I am a Christian but I gladly welcome people of all faiths and walks of life. I strive to respect the culture and belief system of all of my clients and to work from your perspective and world-view with unconditional acceptance and positive regard. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Family Psychology from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2007 and a Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Franciscan University of Steubenville in 2013.

I am a client-centered, psychodyamic therapist. I often implement elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well. I strive to provide an environment that feels safe and relaxed. I work with individuals, young adults and up, who are struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, grief/loss and other mental health diagnoses and life situations and relationship issues.

In the first session, I go over confidentiality and the basics of counseling. I also usually try to establish goals in the first session if we have time. If not, we establish them in the second session. The first session is primarily for information-gathering/getting to know you purposes. :)
