Great to meet you!

With more than twenty-five years of clinical social work experience, Carolyn offers thoughtful, compassionate care grounded in both evidence-based practice and deep respect for each client's lived experience. Her work integrates somatic and focused mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral approaches to help clients gently explore and heal overwhelming emotions, thoughts, and bodily sensations.

Throughout her career, Carolyn has served individuals and families with complex and co-occurring mental health and substance use needs across community behavioral health settings. Her extensive experience includes direct clinical practice, supervision, and leadership in outpatient, enhanced, justice-involved, and crisis services. In addition to her clinical practice, Carolyn teaches social work practice and finds great joy in learning alongside her students, traveling, and conctinuing to expand her perspective though education and connection.

My approach to therapy

Carolyn welcomes clients who are seeking change, deeper understanding, or simply relief. Therapy with her is holistic-honoring the integration of mind, body, and soul. Therapy from a somatic approach may feel different from what clients have previously experienced. Carolyn strives to create a space where healing unfolds at each person's own pace, rooted in grounding, curiousity, and collaboration. Carolyn is committed to honoring culture, lived experience, and diverse perspectives while fostering inclusion, belonging, and authenticity. She believes resilience and transformation emerg through compassionate connection and genuine presence.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, Carolyn will explore your concerns and hopes. She will walk you through how therapy works or might work differently, and answer any and all questions. You will experience an individualized blend of approaches, including somatic focused mindfulness, at a pace that feels right for you. Many clients notice meaningful shifts within their first few sessions with healing unfolding at your own unique pace.
