Great to meet you!

I have been providing counseling services since 2012, but my work in the helping professions began as an educator in 1998. That combination shapes who I am as a therapist today. I believe therapy should help you better understand yourself while also giving you practical tools to navigate life beyond our sessions.

My style is warm, collaborative, supportive, and direct when needed. I believe in meeting you where you are without leaving you there. We will explore your experiences, identify patterns, build on your strengths, and work toward meaningful changes that fit your life. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy because every person brings a different story, culture, set of experiences, and way of seeing the world.

Most importantly, I want therapy to be a space where you can show up as yourself, feel heard and respected, and know that we are working together toward the goals that matter to you.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and tailored to each client. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, person centered approaches, and trauma informed practices. Together, we will explore your experiences, identify patterns that may be affecting your present, challenge thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve you, and build on the strengths you already possess.

I believe insight is important, but therapy should also give you something you can use. Our work may include developing coping strategies, strengthening communication and boundaries, reframing unhelpful thinking, processing past experiences, and identifying practical steps toward your goals. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you better understand yourself, recognize your choices, and develop the tools and confidence to move forward.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We will talk about what is happening in your life, what you would like to be different, your strengths, concerns, and what you hope to gain from our work together.

You do not have to arrive knowing exactly what to say or where to begin. I will ask questions to help guide the conversation while giving you space to share your story at a pace that feels comfortable. We will begin identifying your goals and discussing what our work together might look like. Most importantly, the first session gives you an opportunity to experience my therapeutic style and determine whether I am the right therapist for you.
