I have experience in several treatment settings, including inpatient and outpatient. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, and various addictions, as well as seniors experiencing challenges unique to their life phase.
My approach
I primarily use Cognitive Behavior Therapy. My approach is to assess what the issue is that the person wants to change, and we move forward to help the individual to change. I also use a variety of treatment approaches based on what the client needs.
My focus
I work with adults, and most present with anxiety and depression. In addition, I work with various addictions. I work with many seniors who are experiencing issues affecting seniors as they move through this life phase.
My communication style
I provide an environment that permits the client to open up about their problems in an effort to get some help in resolving their issues, in a non-judgmental approach.
My journey to mental healthcare
I experienced a lot of challenges early in my adult life, and when I decided to go to college, I found myself most comfortable in the path that I chose, which was social work.
Our first session together is focused on getting to know you. We will explore your goals. I’ll ask questions to help identify what is not working well in your life. It takes a lot of courage to begin work on improving your life and I am glad you are here. Life stressors can have a negative impact, on your mental and physical well-being. Most people begin to feel better soon after starting therapy and have feelings of hope.
