Great to meet you!

Therapist Chantia Carter, LCSW is a Master's level social worker with over 20 years of experience. Born in Elizabeth City NC, raised in Maryland. I returned to NC for college, completing a BA of Arts in Psychology at Johnson C Smith University & a Master of Social Work from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I specialize in individual, couples and group treatment and have done this work in a variety of settings: hospital psych ward, school based therapy; individual & couples' therapy.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in mindful practices, relaxation, and encourage holistic wellness tools to improve mind-body awareness toward the goal of aiding clients to learn to: 1) care for their brain and nervous system; 2) identify their natural response to stressors; 3)and make a daily and weekly plan to better cope with stress. I like to help my clients FEEL to unpack and acknowledge the difficult stuff. Clients will find I am a safe place to rest their superhero capes.

What you can expect from me

Life is heavy, I can help you lift from the inside out. Self-Care is good for the soul. I offer an accountability partnership to help you find soothing tools & coping skills (a self-care action plan) that will make sense in your day to day life.
