Great to meet you!

I’m Char Lemon, a licensed Clinical Social Worker. I specialize in helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, whether that’s managing stress, overcoming past trauma, improving relationships, or finding balance in daily life. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change. Every person’s journey is unique, and together we’ll work at your pace to uncover strengths, build resilience, and move toward the life you want. If you’re looking for a compassionate, client-centered approach, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your healing journey.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of the District of Columbia. Then I obtained my Master of Social Work with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health from Howard University. I have been practicing Social Work for over 15 years and have worked in several different settings including outpatient therapy, hospital psychiatric, HIV/Infectious disease, Child welfare, and private practice.

My approach to therapy

I will provide a safe, supportive space where we work together to understand what you’re going through and create practical strategies for healing and growth. In addition, I will walk alongside you, listening, supporting, and guiding you as you navigate challenges and discover your own strength, through the therapeutic process.

What you can expect from me

In our first meeting, I like to start each session with an affirmation that we will reference during our session. My main goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where you feel heard and understood. We’ll start with brief introductions and talk about what brought you to therapy, your concerns, goals, and any immediate needs. I’ll explain how therapy works, including confidentiality, session structure, and your rights as a client, so you know what to expect and can ask questions at any time.

Together, we’ll review your history, strengths, and current challenges to build a picture of your life and identify priorities for our work. By the end of the session, we’ll collaborate on an initial plan for next steps and schedule follow-up sessions if you choose to continue.
