Great to meet you!

Hi there, my name is Charissa and I have been a therapist for 20 years. I have a masters degree in social work that has allowed me to build my practice on looking through a lens of cultural context and seeing a person within their environmental context as well. I like to work with adults and adolescents who are ready to look at themselves and make changes to better their lives by identifying barriers and focusing on small changes that will make a big difference.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is conversational with a focus on the end goal while also paying attention to daily thoughts and feelings that may be hindering a desired outcome. I use a variety of techniques in my practice from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, REBT, Attachment theory, and narrative therapy.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to take away increased perspective and a small goal to work on until the next session. This may be as small as recognizing an unhelpful thought or as big as making a decision about something that's holding you back. My clients often report they feel "lighter" after a session with me and that I'm able to break things down into digestible pieces.
