Great to meet you!

Welcome to Weiss Choice Wellness! I am Charisse Weiss, LCPC, a psychotherapist, passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where women and young adults can feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges.

My journey in the mental health field began at Morgan State University, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2007. I continued my education at Towson University, earning my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in 2009.

Over the years, my education and professional experiences have strengthened my belief that everyone has a unique story, individual strengths, and their own path toward healing. I work with women and young adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, or adjustment-related challenges.

I strive to meet each client where they are, honor their individual experiences, and provide the support they need to develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and personal growth. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable being your authentic self and know that you are not alone in the process.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe therapy should be a safe space where you can show up as your authentic self and feel accepted, respected, and understood.

Through a person-centered approach, I focus on building a genuine therapeutic relationship based on empathy, trust, and acceptance. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and I am here to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences and identify the changes you would like to make.

I also incorporate CBT to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we can explore patterns that may be affecting your well-being and develop practical tools and healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges.

These approaches allow me to be authentically who I am while helping others heal and grow. I believe therapy is not about changing who you are. Instead, it is about helping you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and develop the tools you need to move forward.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other and determine how I can best support you. We will spend time gathering background information, learning more about what brings you to therapy, and discussing your current concerns and goals.

An important part of our first session is building rapport and establishing a foundation of trust. I understand that starting therapy can feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar, and I want you to feel welcomed and supported throughout the process.

You do not have to have everything figured out before you begin therapy. You simply have to be willing to take the first step. My hope is that you feel heard, respected, and supported as we work together toward healing, growth, and positive change.
