Great to meet you!

I'm Dr. Charity Allwell, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with four years of experience. I earned my PMHNP-BC certification in 2022 and completed my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2025, building on a nursing foundation that includes advanced training in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and medication management. I work with clients of all ages — children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. As a nurse and healthcare leader, my connection to this work is rooted in caring for people and supporting their dignity. I respect each person's identity, cultural background, values, and preferences, and I believe effective care starts with trust.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and personalized. I use thoughtful assessment, supportive conversation, psychoeducation, and medication management when appropriate to help you understand your symptoms and work toward goals that matter to you. I recognize the connection between physical health, mental health, relationships, and life experience, and I lean on practical tools that support coping, emotional well-being, and everyday functioning. My style is warm, approachable, patient, and nonjudgmental — I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing what's on your mind.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll start with a thorough assessment of your history, current symptoms, and goals so I can understand the full picture of what's bringing you in. We'll talk through any concerns in a judgment-free space, and I'll walk you through options — including medication management if it's a good fit — so you feel informed every step of the way. My goal is to partner with you from day one, building a path together toward greater stability, confidence, and well-being.
