Charles Rothera

I am a therapist and advocate for those with addiction and mental health disorders. I attended Millersville University and graduated with a master's degree in social work. I have since become licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in both Pennsylvania and Delaware and become certified as an alcohol and drug counselor and an integrative sex and couples counselor. I am a strong believer in using a person-centered approach to providing strengths-based and goal-oriented care. Your goals become my goals.

I entered the field almost 20 years ago and have worked with individuals from all walks of life. I have overcome my own challenges of depression and anxiety and am passionate about helping others do the same.

My therapeutic style is very conversational. It’s not just asking you how something makes you feel or how something relates to your parents. You won’t just explore past life experiences, you will also create new thought patterns and better understand yourself and your world. You may even end up having a laugh and looking forward to the next session.

The goal of the work we do together will be defined by you. You’re the expert when it comes to your own life and experiences. My job is to help you process and deal with whatever life throws at you or has thrown at you in the past. Together we will come up with options, identify the best course of action, and set plans into place so you can become the best version of yourself!
