Great to meet you!
Hello, I’m Charlyne Boyette, and I come to this work as someone in long-term, sustained recovery. My personal journey has been shaped by heart-centered practices that deepen connection, healing, and hope. I’ve received and shared healing connections throughout my life, and I believe in the transformative power of relationships rooted in compassion and authenticity.
Professionally, I serve as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, EMDRIA Certified EMDR trauma therapist, Ordained Chaplain in the hospital setting to assist people with healing while offering spiritual care and emotional support to patients and families navigating traumatic experiences, addictive behaviors, and medical crises. I train and supervise Peer Support Specialists and I support professionals pursuing credentials as alcohol and drug counselors through NCASPPB. I've worked in Outpatient Opioid Treatment Programs and contribute to federal oversight of NC’s Olmstead Agreement, focusing on transitions to community living and supported employment.
My educational background includes a Master of Divinity from Campbell University, with a concentration in counseling and chaplaincy, and a Juris Doctorate from Elon School of Law.
I specialize in stress/trauma resiliency, substance use recovery, training and supervision of other professionals. I’ve worked across inpatient, outpatient, and community-based systems. Whether I’m mentoring peers, leading seminars, or offering therapy, my goal is to walk alongside others as they reclaim their lives and rediscover their strengths.
Outside of work, I find joy in spending time with my husband, daughter, and our four Maltese puppies. I remain active in my church and several 12-step communities, and I continue to grow through ongoing therapy, spiritual practice, and peer-led learning.
