Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Chelsea! I'm a licensed clinical social worker and addiction counselor based in North Carolina. I've worked with adults and children through a wide range of challenges - anxiety and depression, codependency, substance use disorders, trauma recovery, issues of grief and loss, and various crises and life transitions. I strongly believe that everyone deserves joy and fulfillment, no matter what hand you've been dealt. I'm here to help you achieve your goals and reduce suffering, however it presents itself. You’ve made a meaningful move toward caring for your emotional and mental well‐being, and I’m excited to support you in becoming your best self.

My approach to therapy

I bring training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to my work with clients. In our sessions together, my hope is that you'll sign off with practical skills to help manage the unpredictable, stressful things life can throw at us at any given moment. With that said, you're in the drivers' seat. We'll collaborate on a plan that meets your unique needs and goals for therapy. My approach is trauma-informed and non-judgmental - I encourage folks to come to sessions "as you are," no matter how that is. I also believe in the healing and nurturing power of humor and laughter!

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I’ll ask questions that help me understand what brought you in and how the challenges you’re facing are showing up in your life. I want to hear your story! We’ll look at how you’ve been coping, what feels difficult right now, and what signs might tell us that things are beginning to shift in a positive direction. I may offer ideas you can choose to try out as we work toward change.
