Great to meet you!

My name is Chidi Nwachukwu, and I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing, trained at Liberty University and Walden University. I work with adults and seniors, and I bring a holistic, person-centered approach to mental health care — one that attends to the whole person, not just the presenting diagnosis.

My clinical focus includes depression, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, trauma, bipolar disorder, OCD, eating disorders, anger management and impulse control, and stress. I have particular expertise in assessment, psychiatric evaluation, and medication management, and I am committed to working collaboratively with each client to build a care plan that truly fits their life.

Whatever you're carrying — whether it's something you've lived with for years or something that has recently become overwhelming — I am here to help you move through it and toward something better.

My approach to therapy

My approach is holistic, collaborative, and grounded in evidence. I believe that lasting mental health improvement comes from treating the whole person — understanding not just symptoms, but the history, circumstances, and strengths that shape each individual's experience.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as my primary therapeutic framework, helping clients identify and reshape the thought patterns and behaviors driving depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, anger, and mood instability. CBT is structured and practical — it gives clients real tools they can use between sessions, building skills that extend well beyond the therapy room.

I specialize in psychiatric assessment, evaluation, and medication management, and I take care to explain my clinical thinking clearly — ensuring clients understand their options and feel genuinely involved in every decision. Collaborative care isn't just a phrase in my practice; it's the standard.

Throughout everything, I strive to create a space where clients feel safe enough to be honest — with me and with themselves. Healing begins there.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I want to get to know you — your story, your challenges, and what you're hoping our work together might help you achieve.

We'll talk through your mental health history, your current concerns, and how things have been affecting your daily life. I'll ask questions — not to evaluate or judge, but to understand. You'll have space to share what feels relevant, at whatever pace feels comfortable.

By the end of our first meeting, we'll have begun to build a plan that is truly individualized — tailored to your specific needs, preferences, and goals. If medication is part of that picture, we'll discuss it openly and transparently, and nothing will move forward without your understanding and agreement.

My commitment is simple: to show up for you with the full depth of my training, my attention, and my care — every single session.
