Great to meet you!

I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I provide care to children, adolescents, and adults, and my background in both family medicine and psychiatric mental health allows me to consider the important connection between physical and mental well-being.

I evaluate and manage a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health concerns, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar and other mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, personality disorders, substance use and addiction, chronic stress, anger and aggression, sleep concerns, and emotional and behavioral difficulties. My medical background also informs my work with individuals whose mental health may be affected by chronic pain, medical conditions, medications, or other physical health concerns.

In addition to my medical and psychiatric training, I have specialized training and certifications in various evidence-based psychotherapy modalities. My therapeutic work may include individual therapy, trauma-focused therapy, family therapy, and parent-child therapeutic approaches. This combination of medical, psychiatric, and therapeutic training allows me to provide care that is individualized to the needs of each person and family.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and centered on the whole person. I believe effective mental health care requires understanding more than a diagnosis. I consider physical health, medications, sleep, pain, lifestyle, relationships, family dynamics, developmental needs, substance use, chronic stress, and life experiences when developing a treatment plan.

I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on your needs, care may include medication management, psychotherapy, behavioral and lifestyle strategies, addiction-focused care, family interventions, parent-child work, education, or a thoughtful combination of approaches.

I also believe you should understand the “why” behind your treatment. I explain my clinical recommendations, discuss available options, and encourage questions and shared decision-making. When working with children and adolescents, I consider developmental, family, school, behavioral, medical, and social factors while involving parents or caregivers appropriately and making sure the young person's voice is heard.

My goal is not simply to manage symptoms, but to help you achieve meaningful and sustainable improvement in your overall well-being and daily life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for me to understand you as a person—not simply a list of symptoms or a diagnosis. We will talk about what brought you to care, the concerns that are most important to you, how they are affecting your daily life, and what you hope to achieve through treatment.

I will review relevant psychiatric and medical history, current and previous medications, sleep, mood, relationships, stressors, substance use when applicable, and other factors that may be contributing to your symptoms. For children and adolescents, I also consider developmental history, behavior, family dynamics, school functioning, and caregiver concerns while giving the young person an opportunity to be heard.

We will discuss my clinical impressions and possible treatment options together. When appropriate, this may include medication, psychotherapy, behavioral or lifestyle strategies, additional evaluation, or a combination of approaches. I will explain the reasoning behind recommendations and allow you to ask questions and express your preferences.

You can expect a respectful and nonjudgmental environment where you are heard, informed, and actively involved in developing a treatment plan that makes sense for you or your child.
