Great to meet you!

I’m a licensed psychologist who works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, ADHD, and stress. I earned my doctorate in Counseling Psychology and have experience providing both therapy and psychological assessment with adults.

One of the things I value most about therapy is the connection that develops when people feel comfortable enough to really be themselves. I’m warm and down-to-earth, but I’m also an active therapist. I’ll ask questions, share what I’m noticing, and help you make connections between patterns that may not have been obvious before. I want therapy to feel like a genuine conversation with someone who is invested in understanding you and helping you move forward.

My approach to therapy

I don’t believe there is one right way to do therapy for every person. I draw from CBT, positive psychology, and process-based ideas, and I tailor what we do to what is actually happening in your life and what seems to be keeping you stuck.

I especially enjoy helping people discover their strengths. Often, we are very good at noticing what we are doing wrong and much less likely to recognize what we are already doing well. I like helping clients identify those strengths, really take them in rather than immediately minimizing them, and figure out how they can use them more intentionally in everyday life.

My style is collaborative, curious, and straightforward. I’ll support you, but I may also gently challenge you when I think it could be helpful. And although therapy sometimes involves difficult things, it doesn’t have to feel heavy every minute. There is absolutely room to laugh together when it comes naturally.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting to know each other. I’ll want to hear what brought you in, what has been going on lately, and a little about your background so I have some context for what you’re experiencing. I’ll also ask some standard questions about how you’re doing overall and about safety.

You don’t need to come in knowing exactly what you want to work on or how to explain everything. We’re just starting the conversation, getting a sense of what is going on, and seeing whether I’m a good fit for what you need.
