My name is Christine and I am a State of Maine Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#17277). I am certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I have almost 20 years of experience in working children, adolescents and their families. I am accepting referrals for PCIT (children ages 2-6) and TF-CBT (children and youth ages 3-17) only at this time.
My approach to therapy is rooted in developing and maintaining trust and comfort throughout the therapeutic process. I believe safety is the necessary foundation for any therapeutic work. I specialize and focus in providing treatment with children and youth ages 3-17 and their families impacted by trauma, grief, loss. I provide TF-CBT an evidenced based treatment for children and youth ages 3-17. I also am certified in PCIT and evidenced based treatment that teaches caregivers effective parenting skills with children ages 2-6 who struggle with disruptive behavior through enhancing the parent-child relationship.
During our first session together, I will listen to your concerns and reasons and hopes in seeking care for your child. I will discuss the potential role of PCIT or TF-CBT in addressing your child or adolescents needs. We will discuss how treatment will help you and your child understand their behavior and how to respond with consistency, confidence and empathy as you learn new ways of supporting your child. We will discuss how treatment will teach your child effective skills in managing emotional distress. I am excited to partner with you and your child on their journey of hope, health, and healing!
