Great to meet you!

My name is Christine Keanu and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I earned my Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I have a professional background working with children, families, and individuals involved in a wide range of social service systems. My work has included supporting clients through complex life experiences, stressors, and transitions, often in settings where safety, trust and consistency are especially important.

My approach to therapy

My clinical approach is trauma-informed, strength-based and culturally responsive. I recognize the impact that trauma and chronic stress can have on affecting emotional regulation, behavior, relationships and overall functioning. In my work with therapy clients, I prioritize safety, collaboration, and client autonomy ensuring that treatment is guided by each client's goals, readiness, and lived experience. I work collaboratively with clients to build insight, strengthen coping skills and foster resilience while maintaining a therapeutic pace that supports stability and trust.

What you can expect from me

During our first meeting, my primary focus is building rapport, establishing safety, and clarifying your reasons for seeking therapy. It is also an opportunity for us to review confidentiality, expectations for therapy, and your rights as a client as well as answer any questions you may have. Therapy is collaborative and I encourage you to share only what feels comfortable for you.
