Great to meet you!

Have you ever felt like you understand why you feel the way you do, but nothing actually changes? Many people I work with are insightful, self-aware, and motivated, yet still feel stuck. When insight alone hasn’t been enough, therapy can start to feel frustrating or pointless.

As a young adult, I sought out different therapists as I transitioned through different stages of adulthood. Often I would walk away frustrated because I felt many of those therapists only managed the surface of my problems and didn't help me develop any real insight into my behavior or the underlying feelings driving my behavior. When I became a therapist I devoted myself to becoming one that would ACTUALLY be helpful for my clients. In short, I wanted to be a therapist that didn't suck. I feel I have reached that goal and I have a genuine desire to use my skills to help others.

My approach to therapy

As your therapist, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals, whatever they may be. I specialize in working with adults who have tried therapy before but continue to struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, shame, or emotional overwhelm. My approach focuses on helping you move beyond thinking about your emotions to actually experiencing and processing them in a way that creates real, lasting change. By paying attention to what’s happening in both your mind and body, we can get to the root of what keeps repeating and interrupt those patterns at their source.

I bring over 17 years of clinical experience working with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and attachment issues, addictions, grief and loss, chronic stress, and life transitions. I use an integrative, experiential approach grounded in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), alongside elements of other evidence-based modalities, to help clients understand how emotions, defenses, and anxiety interact and how to loosen what’s been holding them back.

You don’t have to “try harder” or fix yourself to feel better. Change often happens organically when emotions are approached safely, directly, and with curiosity. Therapy with me is collaborative, focused, and practical, with the goal that you leave sessions feeling clearer, more grounded, and more connected to yourself. I provide therapy via secure video sessions and work with adults seeking deeper emotional understanding and meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my main goal is to understand what has brought you to therapy and what you hope will be different in your life as a result of this work. You will have space to share your story at your own pace, and I may ask thoughtful questions to help clarify what you are experiencing emotionally, physically, and in your relationships.

I tend to be an active and engaged therapist. Rather than simply listening, I may occasionally slow the conversation down to help you notice what is happening inside you in real time. Sometimes our bodies react to emotions before our minds fully understand them, so I may invite you to pay attention to physical sensations, emotional reactions, or patterns that show up while we talk. This can help us get closer to the underlying feelings that are driving distress or stuck patterns.

You can expect me to be genuine, curious, and collaborative. Therapy with me is not about judgment or forcing you to talk about things before you are ready. At the same time, I believe meaningful change often happens when we gently explore the emotions and experiences that are difficult to face alone.

The first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about the therapy process and to see whether working together feels like a good fit. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest about what you are going through while also engaging in a process that leads to real change.
