Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Chris. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Loyola University) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have worked in settings as varied as hospitals, residential treatment programs, and outpatient therapy. I specialize in addiction: Problem Gambling, Alcohol use and Substance Use disorder.

My approach to therapy

I focus on my client's strengths and core values to collaborate with them to find healing and solutions for their therapeutic needs. Empathy, constructive listening and feedback are combined with theory and holistic evidence-based practices to provide effective clinical support.

I start by getting curious about what’s going on, what the behavior is doing for you, what it’s costing you, and what you want to change.

My approach combines practical tools from CBT and Motivational Interviewing with deeper work around patterns like stress, shame, relationships, and difficult emotions. I’ll be direct and ask hard questions, but always from your side of the table. You set the goals, and we work toward them together.

What you can expect from me

Support toward doing what matters in your life in accordance with your system of values and goals. The first session is mostly about understanding what’s been happening, what you’ve already tried, and what you want to be different. I’ll ask direct questions, but it won’t feel like an interrogation or a checklist.
