Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addictions Treatment Provider serving clients across West Michigan through Clarity Counseling and Coaching in Dutton. My background includes work in corrections, community mental health, and private practice, which gives me a practical understanding of how stress, trauma, and life experiences shape the way people think, feel, and behave.

Clients often describe me as direct, grounded, and easy to talk to. I value honesty, clarity, and real‐world strategies that help people function better in their daily lives. I work with adults facing anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship challenges, identity concerns, and major life transitions.

My goal is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and equipped with tools that help you move forward with confidence.

My approach to therapy

My approach is practical, collaborative, and rooted in evidence‐based treatment. I draw from cognitive‐behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma‐informed care to help clients understand patterns, build new skills, and create meaningful change.

I believe therapy should be both supportive and actionable. Together, we identify what’s getting in the way, explore the “why” behind your experiences, and develop clear, realistic steps toward the life you want. Treatment is always tailored to your goals — whether that means improving coping skills, strengthening relationships, navigating addiction recovery, or working through past experiences.

I view therapy as a partnership. You bring your story; I bring structure, clinical expertise, and tools. We work together to create progress that feels sustainable and aligned with who you want to become.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, the client can expect a calm, straightforward conversation focused on understanding what brings them in and what they hope to accomplish. We take time to explore their history, current concerns, and the goals they want to work toward. Together, we look at what’s been getting in the way, what’s been helping, and what changes they’d like to see.

I also explain how I work, answer any questions, and collaborate with the client to create a clear plan for moving forward. My style is direct, supportive, and practical — clients aren’t judged, rushed, or expected to have everything figured out. The first session is about building comfort, clarity, and a shared understanding of how therapy can be meaningful for them.
