Great to meet you!

Welcome. I’m Dr. Constance Zou, a board certified psychiatrist. I completed my medical training at Yale School of Medicine and my psychiatry residency at the National Institute of Mental Health, where I also pursued additional clinical fellowship training focused on the relationship between hormones and mood.

My background in both clinical care and research shapes how I approach treatment. I tend to be thoughtful, thorough, and collaborative, with an emphasis on understanding the full context of what you are going through rather than focusing only on symptoms. My goal is to help you make sense of your experience and develop a plan that feels both effective and sustainable.

Patients often find that I offer a calm, structured space to think through difficult experiences and decisions. I value clear communication, respect for your perspective, and working together at a pace that feels manageable.

My approach to therapy

I provide medication consultation and management with elements of psychotherapy, with a focus on thoughtful, individualized decision making. This includes helping you determine whether medication is appropriate, and if so, how to use it in a way that aligns with your goals. Treatment recommendations may include medication, a combination of medication and psychotherapy, or in some cases therapy alone.

I offer extended intake sessions to allow sufficient time to understand your situation in depth. Our work is collaborative and paced in a way that feels manageable, with the goal of helping you gain clarity, stability, and a more sustainable way forward.

Note that I do not offer standalone psychotherapy.

What you can expect from me

My approach to treatment begins with a careful, comprehensive understanding of you as a whole person, including your history, current challenges, and the broader context of your life. From there, we work together to clarify what you are experiencing and what kind of support would be most helpful.
