Great to meet you!

After nearly 10 years of providing therapy services I have learned that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all treatment modality. Therapy is an opportunity to build skills that you can utilize during and beyond therapy, throughout the many chapters of life. My aim is to help facilitate conversations with curiosity, humor, empathy, and flexibility that explore root causes of patterns and cycles that we all get stuck in. I knew I wanted to become a therapist while teaching music to kids as a part of The Young Americans. This led me to want to know why music and talking were so powerful. Family therapy specifically became an interest in seeing how treating the system creates long-lasting and powerful change. I continue to use creative ways to address healing.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is flexible. As a marriage and family therapist, I am skilled at helping treat systems. My preferred treatment style is Experiential therapies, nature therapy, Narrative therapy, Play therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, CBT, and Trauma-Informed Weight Lifting. As an LMFT, I view challenges through a relational lens, recognizing that individuals do not exist in isolation. Our experiences, relationships, families, and environments all influence our well-being. This perspective allows me to help clients understand not only what they're struggling with, but also how lasting change can occur within systems. Clients often describe me as warm, down-to-earth, genuine, and easy to talk to. With a dash of humor and sarcasm when indicated. I believe that everyone has the capacity for change, healing, and overall happiness. I believe that instilling hope, challenging negative thinking patterns, and putting skills to use in therapy sessions works.

What you can expect from me

Goals will be developed as a team. My clients are the experts of their own stories and know their goals best. We will set goals and check in on progress and barriers towards those goals often. My goal is to put myself out of a job. My success is seeing clients build confidence, insight, and skills that last long after our work together ends. Our first session is all about getting to know each other. I want to know all about your likes and dislikes so that I can create interventions that are aligned with your interests and learning style. We will discuss how to get away from feeling stuck and the first steps we want to take in reaching those goals.
