Great to meet you!

Courtney Reed, CRNP, PMHNP-BC is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with experience in both primary care and psychiatry. Her background as a Family Nurse Practitioner allows her to take a holistic, whole-person approach to mental health treatment.

Courtney completed advanced psychiatric training at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and holds degrees from Prairie View A&M University, Duke University, and George Washington University. She has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings and specializes in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and opioid use disorder.

She provides warm, evidence-based, and collaborative care, focusing on personalized treatment plans that support insight, stability, and long-term well-being.

My approach to therapy

As a psychiatric provider, I strive to be relatable and direct, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where patients feel seen, heard, and understood. I lead with empathy while balancing compassion with honesty and clarity when addressing challenges. I emphasize shared decision-making and actively encourage patients to take an informed, collaborative role in their care, empowering them to build insight, resilience, and sustainable strategies for long-term well-being.

What you can expect from me

Patients can expect a supportive, collaborative, and judgment-free environment where they feel heard and validated. During the first session, we will review current concerns, symptoms, and personal goals, while also discussing relevant medical and mental health history. Together, we’ll explore treatment options and develop an initial plan tailored to their needs.

Patients typically leave feeling more empowered and informed, with a clearer understanding of their mental health and practical tools to support progress. Most importantly, they can expect to feel like an active partner in their care—not just a recipient of it.
