Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania with over 25 years of experience working in mental health. Throughout my career, I have provided therapy in outpatient, forensic, correctional, and community mental health settings, helping individuals navigate a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges.

I work with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, life transitions, relationship difficulties, grief, personality disorders, and substance use concerns. I also have experience working with veterans, first responders, and individuals involved in the legal system. My approach is collaborative, respectful, and individualized, recognizing that every person's experiences and goals are unique.

My therapeutic style integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, and supportive psychotherapy. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

Whether you are facing a recent life challenge or have struggled for many years, my goal is to help you gain insight, develop practical coping skills, and move toward a more fulfilling and balanced life. I believe that therapy is a partnership built on trust, honesty, and compassion, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Currently have weekend hours.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy is most effective when it is built on trust, honesty, and a strong therapeutic relationship. My approach is collaborative—I work alongside clients to better understand their experiences, identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and develop practical strategies for creating meaningful change.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each individual's needs, strengths, and goals. I integrate evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, and supportive psychotherapy. Depending on the client's needs, I also incorporate mindfulness, solution-focused interventions, and psychoeducation to help clients better understand themselves and their challenges.

I enjoy working with adults facing depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance use concerns, relationship difficulties, grief, and major life transitions. I also have experience working with veterans, first responders, and individuals involved in the legal system.

Above all, I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable discussing difficult topics at their own pace. My goal is to help clients gain insight, build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and move toward a life that reflects their values and personal goals. I believe lasting change begins with understanding ourselves more fully, and I consider it a privilege to be part of that process.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my primary goal is to get to know you and understand what brings you to therapy. We will discuss your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and what you hope to achieve through counseling. This initial session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine whether you feel comfortable working with me.

I strive to create a welcoming, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly at your own pace. There is no expectation to share everything at once. Building trust is an important part of the therapeutic process, and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Together, we will identify your goals and begin developing a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs. Whether you are seeking relief from emotional distress, learning healthier coping strategies, improving relationships, or working toward personal growth, therapy is a collaborative process. My role is to provide guidance, support, practical tools, and honest feedback to help you move toward the changes that matter most to you.
