Great to meet you!

I earned a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2015, following the completion of a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Winston-Salem State University in 2009. I am a National Certified Counselor and hold licensure as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS).

My professional career commenced in 2008 as a residential counselor within a behavioral health agency serving youth and adolescents. Over the subsequent six years, I cultivated extensive experience addressing the behavioral health needs of children. Subsequently, I was appointed as the LCMHCS Team Lead for Community Support Services at an agency providing comprehensive support to both children and adults diagnosed with mental health, behavioral health, and substance use disorders.

With over ten years of experience in adult mental health care, I have developed expertise in delivering recovery-oriented services and supports, particularly in the domains of employment, education, and wellness for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. In addition to clinical practice, I fulfill the role of Clinical Supervisor, providing professional supervision and mentorship to clinicians holding Associate Licenses.

My approach to therapy

I maintain an emphasis on personal responsibility for choices. I believe a person-centered therapeutic approach helps identify areas for improvement and provides motivation to take the necessary steps to attain satisfaction and a higher quality of life. A few specific techniques used in therapy are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, among others.

What you can expect from me

My vision is to provide authentic exceptional service by uniting with individuals through the therapeutic experience to become self-aware and empowered. We want our clients to feel safe as we collaboratively work with you to help, find hope, and obtain happiness.
