Great to meet you!

Cynthia High-Gutierrez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 10+ years of experience in behavioral health, telehealth, and school-based care. She works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. Cynthia uses CBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to promote lasting emotional wellness.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and strengths-based. I believe each client is the expert on their own life, and I work alongside them to identify goals, build on existing strengths, and develop practical strategies for lasting change. I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, while tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs, values, and experiences. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and culturally responsive environment where clients feel heard, empowered, and equipped to improve their emotional well-being.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. I'll ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals to better understand your unique needs. Together, we'll begin developing a plan tailored to your goals while ensuring you feel heard, supported, and comfortable throughout the process. My priority is to create a safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you can begin your journey toward healing and growth.
