Great to meet you!

Raised biracial/bicultural, I knew the feeling of wondering how and where I fit in. This led to a lifetime of curiousity of what makes us behave the way that we do and how to create the life we desire. After an initial career in International Consulting, I knew that helping others to embrace life with joy and purpose was my true path. I entered the Gestalt Institute, gained a Masters in Counseling and ultimately a doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I find each individual to be unique and special so the work is always client-centered. Together we can explore your strengths and expand skills to meet any problems you may be facing.

My approach to therapy

My practice is built on the belief that while our past shapes us, it does not have to define our future. I utilize an integrative, person-centered approach that honors the unique story and cultural background of every individual I work with. By integrating Humanistic principles with somatic techniquesand a systemic understanding, I help you tune into what your body is telling you, allowing us to process emotions that words alone often cannot reach.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, the focus will be on building a safe, collaborative foundation. You can expect the following during our initial meeting:

  • Establishing a Connection: We will start by getting to know one another in a warm and affirming environment. This relational beginning is key to ensuring you feel seen and heard from the very start.
  • Clarifying Your Goals: We will discuss what brings you to therapy at this time and what you hope to achieve. By identifying your specific goals, we can create a clear roadmap for our work together.
  • Strengths Discovery: A core part of our first conversation will be identifying your inherent strengths. I believe these existing internal resources are the building blocks for the resilience and change you are looking for.
  • A Holistic Perspective: As we talk, we will note both thoughts and physical experience. This somatic awareness often provides you with valuable insight for empowerment and connection.
