Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Fargo, North Dakota with over 7 years of experience in mental health and substance use therapy and a total of over 13 years of experience in the mental health field in general. I work with clients throughout the state via telehealth. I work with individuals ages 5 and older and specialize in stress, anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma utilizing a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness while also working to maintain a person centered approach within the therapy space in order to best assist my clients in making progress towards their goals. I am also trained in Play Therapy and EMDR and can incorporate these into our virtual sessions!

My approach to therapy

I work to tailor my style and approach to fit the client’s needs. I utilize CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and EMDR to assist clients in gaining a better understanding of their reality and working together to chart a path forward towards their identified goals.

I work to take a calm, accommodating, and personable approach. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking to me about anything they may feel they need to without fear of judgment. I pride myself on my ability to be able to do this for my clients, listening without judgment, as well as showing continual empathy for them.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will spend a lot of time talking about you and why you sought out therapy services. I will ask a lot of questions to better understand you as well as to complete the necessary assessments required for appropriate, helpful, and ethical therapy practice. While I may be asking a lot of questions, I will also be working to build an initial connection with you as well as what some of your initial goals might be.

When goal setting with clients, I work to first build rapport with them so they feel they have a strong, trusting foundation to utilize while working towards their goals. I also work to assist them in identifying and understanding that goals can be both short-term and long-term and that they can be modified as we live our lives. As we continue to work together, clients start to feel more comfortable with identifying “deeper” goals to work towards.
