Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. My name is Damaris Andrade, PMHNP-BC, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to adolescents and adults.

I have experience treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, trauma-related disorders, and other mood and behavioral health concerns. My approach is patient-centered, collaborative, and focused on helping individuals achieve meaningful improvements in their quality of life.

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing with specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health and am board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I believe that successful treatment begins with building a trusting therapeutic relationship where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care.

My treatment approach combines comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and individualized treatment planning. I work closely with patients to develop realistic goals and treatment strategies that align with their values, lifestyle, and personal circumstances.

As a bilingual provider, I am able to offer services in both English and Spanish, helping improve access to culturally sensitive mental health care for diverse communities.

Whether you are seeking support for a new mental health concern or ongoing management of an existing condition, I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where healing, growth, and recovery are possible. I look forward to partnering with you on your mental health journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I believe that each person is unique, and treatment should be tailored to their specific needs, goals, strengths, and life circumstances. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to participate actively in their treatment.

I utilize evidence-based practices that may include medication management, psychoeducation, supportive therapy, and coordination of care with therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate. My goal is not only to reduce symptoms but also to help patients improve their overall quality of life, relationships, functioning, and sense of well-being

What you can expect from me

During your first appointment, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to treatment. I will conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which includes discussing your current symptoms, mental health history, medical history, medications, family history, and any factors that may be affecting your emotional well-being.

This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share your concerns, and discuss your goals for treatment. I strive to create a welcoming, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable speaking openly about your experiences.

At the end of the appointment, we will review my clinical impressions, discuss treatment recommendations, and develop a personalized plan that may include medication management, therapy recommendations, lifestyle strategies, or additional resources as appropriate. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and with a clear understanding of the next steps in your care.

I view treatment as a collaborative process, and I look forward to working together to support your mental health and overall well-being.
