Great to meet you!

I'm a triple board-certified psychiatrist, with certifications in Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, and Obesity Medicine, and I have more than 16 years of experience helping adults feel better and function at their best. I earned my medical degree at Texas Tech University School of Medicine and completed my psychiatry residency at East Tennessee State University.

I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management by secure video, so you can get care from home without the drive or the waiting room. I treat a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety (including generalized anxiety, panic disorder, and social anxiety), OCD, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, sleep problems, and stress that's getting in the way of daily life.

I welcome people of all backgrounds, including all races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities. My practice is a safe, respectful, and judgment-free space.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and straightforward. I take time to understand your history and goals, explain my reasoning clearly, and work with you on a plan that fits your life. I pay close attention to side effects, including weight and metabolic changes that some psychiatric medications can cause. My background in obesity medicine helps me choose treatments that support both your mental and physical health.

If you've had trouble finding a psychiatrist who listens, or you're ready to try a new approach, I'd be glad to help.

What you can expect from me

Our first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation by secure video, usually about [60] minutes. I'll ask about what brings you in, your current symptoms, and your goals, along with your medical and mental health history, past medications (what helped and what didn't), family history, and daily life, including sleep, work, and relationships. You're welcome to ask questions at any point.

By the end of the visit, I'll share my impressions in plain language and we'll decide on a treatment plan together, whether that means starting or adjusting a medication or suggesting therapy or other supports. Nothing is decided without your input. Follow-up visits are shorter and focus on how you're doing, any side effects, and fine-tuning your plan.

To prepare, it helps to have a list of your current medications and any past psychiatric medications you've tried.
