Great to meet you!

After years as a woodsman, fisherman, emergency room nurse, and paramedic, I finally went to medical school, later than most, and already filled with life experiences. I live with my wife of forty years and have a wonderful collection of children and grandchildren. I love animals and all of the natural world.

My approach to therapy

I became a doctor and specialized in psychiatry because I wanted to be the one who would listen. That is the only way to hear what is often the key to the patient's problems. Psychiatric practice is about so much more than just naming an illness and prescribing medication. Therapeutic listening and understanding are every bit as important in effecting change.

What you can expect from me

My first goal is to learn your goals, your ideas, what challenges you have faced in the past and now, and what has helped, and what has not. All of these are important to me.
