Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience in the field of social work and mental health. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University–Idaho and my Master’s degree in Social Work from Boise State University. I have been practicing since 2012 and received my clinical license in 2019.

For nine years, I worked in children’s mental health with the Division of Behavioral Health within the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. During this time, I gained extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and families navigating mental health and other life challenges.

I also spent three years working with Development Counseling Services for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, providing counseling services and support to individuals facing a variety of personal and emotional challenges.

Throughout my career, I have valued the opportunity to support individuals and families through difficult seasons and to help them take steps toward greater well-being and positive change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. I strive to create a safe environment where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable being open about the challenges they are experiencing.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we work to identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop practical coping skills, and build strategies that can support meaningful and lasting change.

I have a particular interest in working with anxiety, depression, stress, and high-risk youth. I also work with families and parents who are navigating the unique challenges that can come with supporting a high-risk young person. I am experienced in working with individuals who experience suicidal thoughts and aim to provide compassionate, supportive care during difficult and overwhelming times.

I believe therapy should be collaborative and tailored to each individual. My goal is to meet clients where they are, build on their strengths, and help them develop the skills and confidence they need to move forward.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, my goal is to help clients feel comfortable, welcomed, and heard. We will spend time getting to know one another, discussing what brought you to therapy, and identifying the concerns or challenges you would like to address.

I also like to begin with the end in mind. We will talk about where you want to be when therapy is complete and what you would like your life to look and feel like at that point. Understanding your hopes and goals helps us create a clear direction for our work together and identify meaningful steps toward getting there.

I recognize that beginning therapy can feel difficult or uncomfortable, so I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can share at your own pace without judgment. Together, we will identify your goals and develop a plan that is realistic and meaningful for you.

By the end of the first session, I hope you feel heard, supported, and more hopeful about the possibility of change. My goal is for you to leave with a clearer understanding of what to expect and a sense of where we can go together.
