My approach blends cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and trauma focused CBT with motivational interviewing and solution focused
techniques, depending on what a session calls for. I work holistically, helping you notice the strengths already in your life, not just the struggle that brought you in. For families and couples, I draw on structural and solution focused approaches to rebuild communication and trust. I have deep experience with addiction and co-occurring disorders, anger management, and the pressures facing LGBTQIA+ and transgender clients, plus professionals like doctors, lawyers, and nurses in high stress careers.
Our first session is about getting to know each other, no pressure to have it all figured out. I'll ask what brought you in, what has or hasn't worked before, and what you're
hoping changes. From there we'll set a pace that respects your schedule, whether that's weekly sessions or something more flexible. Many clients tell me they leave feeling heard, a little lighter, and like they finally have someone in their corner who gets it.
