Hi, I'm Daniel. I’m a licensed mental health therapist currently working with adults who are experiencing problems in living. These might be described as anxiety, depression, anger, grief, aging, life transitions, self-doubt, relationship issues, meaninglessness, or the residual impacts of past traumas. I recognize these problems do not exist in isolation but are connected to childhood, relationships, families, history, culture, and oppression. Along these lines, I do my best to embrace the fundamental humanity of everyone I work with.
My main approach is psychodynamic, meaning I'll be interested in the past, the present, and the "here and now" of the counseling session. We'll listen for patterns across these areas and find new ways to manage hardship. I am also influenced by existential therapy, family systems, and offer EMDR, a therapy that helps people recover from traumatic memories.
At its core, the purpose of therapy is to talk, listen, and notice what happens. In the beginning I'll be curious to hear your story and allow you to speak freely. If you or a loved one is considering therapy please reach out by phone or email, I’ll be glad to provide more information or answer any questions or concerns.
