Great to meet you!

I am a graduate from the University of South Alabama where I completed the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. I am excited to start a new path of patient care as a provider after 15+ years as an RN, traveling the country providing inpatient hospital care.

I earned a certificate in Spanish for Healthcare Providers to reach as many people and communities as possible. I am still learning!

During my training I worked with private outpatient, community behavioral health as well as acute inpatient populations. It is my goal to beneficially serve the community and provide support to those who need it while hoping to reduce barriers and stigmas that prevent people from getting the care they really need and deserve.

Access is for everyone and I want to be a beacon of that message.

My approach to therapy

I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship- which means we can trust each other. I can trust you to be open and honest with me and you can trust that I am going to listen without judgement and provide treatment options that apply to your specific needs. I believe you should understand a diagnosis and its treatment so we can collaborate and make decisions together.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a sort of meet and greet where we will discuss what has brought you in. We will walk through your health history, medication trials, past diagnoses and family history so it is always nice to be familiar with this information!

We will discuss your goals and what you are hoping for/expecting out of our visit. I will give you feedback, discuss options and we can make decisions together on how to proceed.

We do not need to prescribe anything the first day and in fact I do like to first provide options so you can take your time and look things up and make an informed decision. Whether we prescribe something the first meeting or not, we will meet again in about a week to discuss treatment decisions or discuss how treatment is going so far.

At the beginning we will meet more frequently until we find the best fit for you. Then we will adjust the frequency to your comfort and needs!

I hope to see you soon!
