Great to meet you!

I am a child and adolescent therapist, specializing in treating children and adolescents within a wide range of areas such as, anxiety, depression, anger management, emotional regulation, self-esteem, bullying, school avoidance, peer relationships, trauma, behavioral challenges, life changes, and transitions. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical social work. As a certified school social worker by day, I have the ongoing experience of working with children, in a school setting. Because of this, I understand the importance of social emotional learning, and I can help your child to develop and implement the appropriate social emotional skills needed to navigate through school and life. We can work together to develop skills such as, self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision making, and relationship skills. Growing up is a rewarding, yet challenging time, and I am here to guide your child or teen through any obstacles that arise along the way.

My approach to therapy

Whether your child or teen is struggling at home or in school, or just needs someone to talk to, I am here to help. Every child is different, and for that reason, I provide creative therapy sessions that are fun, interactive, and tailored to each child or teen’s individual needs. I will incorporate your child’s interests into therapy sessions, in an effort to build trust and comfortability. In therapy sessions, I will teach your child how to recognize, identify, and understand their feelings. Together, we will develop appropriate ways to manage those feelings. Your child will learn how to develop and implement different coping skills that work for them. Experiencing growth and change isn’t always easy for children and parents, but it doesn’t have to be done alone.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will work together to begin the process of trust and comfortability. I will ask about your interests, and share a bit about me. We will discuss your goals for therapy, and ensure that we create an attainable plan that will help you work towards those goals.
