Great to meet you!

I received a Master of Social Work degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1999. I have provided direct service as a psychotherapist, child welfare social worker, and other services for adults, children, and couples in crisis. My guiding career interest is to help alleviate suffering.

My experience has made me knowledgeable, skilled, and calm, and my natural interest in people and how we live our lives in this world makes me genuinely interested in my clients.

My approach to therapy

I am sensitive and reflective, and I have a tendency to get to the heart of the matter. I prefer to work in-depth, looking beyond immediate symptoms to understand the underlying causes of your behavior. My clients appreciate that I am a direct person, which isn’t to say I’m not patient. Sometimes, in fact, patience is a real part of our work together.

What you can expect from me

I work with individuals who are committed to positive change. I help people examine how their behaviors and habits are impacting their social connections and offer strategies for improving healthy communication and intimacy.
