Great to meet you!

As a child, my family told me I had a gift for understanding and caring about people. This led to my long career in counseling and psychology. What a great choice I made! I have enjoyed working with youth, young adults, aging adults and families in a variety of settings for many years.

I earned a professional degree in counseling and educational psychology from Indiana University. I also have a speciality license in addictions and addiction recovery. I have recently studied counseling ministry and positive psychology in online universities.

I enjoy both learning and teaching psychology and how individuals can learn to make desired changes.

My approach to therapy

I usually open our first session by saying, "Tell me about who you are and how come you are considering making some changes". I listen carefully to everything you have to say. I shape my feedback to match your learning style and assist you to reach your hopes, values, and goals.

What you can expect from me

You will find these sessions to be helpful, meaningful and both comforting and challenging. Bit by bit, we will craft methods and plans which make sense to you and engender within you the greater hope and confidence necessary to reach the goals you desire as you shape your life in ways which bring you more satisfaction and joy.

The methods I use include client centered counseling amplified with methods designed to modify emotional states, thinking patterns and habits of behavior.
