Great to meet you!

My name is David and I practice in Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri and South Dakota. I work with adolescents and adults on a variety of issues. I am passionate, enthusiastic, supportive of patients working through difficult decisions, and give guidance towards long-term change. I believe that the journey starts with where the client is and that there is no such thing as slow progress. I recognize how developing new skills and philosophies about the self can have profound effects on the rest of one’s life.

My approach to therapy

I am highly skilled in addressing mental health and substance abuse issues and focusing on finding solutions, breaking down problems into themes, and helping clients understand themselves at a deeper level by first and foremost being genuine and empathic. I also use analogies and parables to help clients visualize their situations in new ways.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect enthusiasm and personality. Though being a therapist requires expertise in clinical skills, it also requires character through experience. I create an environment that is educational, theatrical, and persuasive through role playing, reframing, and psychoeducation.
