Great to meet you!
I am the founder and clinical director of The Counseling Center for Change, an innovative group practice known for empowering people to create real, lasting transformation. My speciality areas are helping clients with obesity issues, low self esteem, depression, stress, adjustment issues, ADHD, and anxiety issues through individual and/or group therapy.
I believe that therapy sessions should be purposeful, structured, and focused on working on your goals and objectives that are developed in your treatment plan when therapy begins. I believe that therapy is a safe harbor to work through your concerns and to help you achieve your goals. I utilize interactive experiences through Quenza, for example, and provide homework assignments that keeps my clients engaged, discovering, and learning between sessions.
I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work, have been in the helping field for 37 years, and have learned from the best teachers in the areas of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Intelligence, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Bariatric and Obesity Behavorial Health, and Personal Development. I am proud to share that I am a trained and credentailed Team CBT Level 3 therapist through the Feeling Good Institute. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner.
I love facilitating online (live) group psychoeducational programs that are inspiring, structured, evidenced based, and practical -from my “11 Weeks to Self-Esteem” group, to my “Mastering Adult ADHD” group, to my “Bariatric Life Empowerment Program." My Self Esteem program has been taught to students all over the world since 2002 and is based on the work of Dr. David Burns-a world renowed psychiatrist who I had the honor to do a podcast with about my group program. Learning “I’m not the only one who feels this way" transforms isolation with belonging, increases motivation, and accelerates learning-the ingredients for lasting change.
