Great to meet you!

Deanette James specializes in providing mental health medication management to patients in need. She does not provide therapy-only sessions. Do you feel like no one understands you, as if every day is a struggle, like you're always there for everyone, but nobody's really there for you? Do you feel misunderstood, misbelieved, misjudged, at your wits end, and don't know what to do or who to turn to? Are you fighting to find the energy to keep going? If you want someone who will listen to and empathize with you, who will help guide you towards meeting your emotional and mental health goals then you have come to the right place.

She has had traumatic experiences, starting with the death of her dad when she was 10 months old and the passing of her mom recently due to stage 4 cancer, so she has high interest in providing care to patients who have experienced trauma as well as associated anxiety and depression. Additionally, she lives with chronic pain and autoimmune disorders, so she likes to focus on chronic illnesses and providing care to patients who are experiencing and navigating health stressors which also leads to anxiety, depression, and trauma among other disorders. She does utilize online groups to provide support to people experiencing physical and mental health disorders when she is limited by physical symptoms.

My approach to therapy

Rest assured that during the initiation, continuation, or discontinuation phases she makes herself available to answer questions and guide you through the process with follow-up appointments or via secure messaging, outside of appointment times, and all concerns are discussed.

What you can expect from me

Unless lifelong medication management is needed, you may choose to pause medications if you are feeling better, and we can reassess later to see if you need to continue taking them. It can be quite scary to start this journey, but just know you are not alone in this process towards a better mental health and overall wellbeing.
